Every day, millions of people around the world get their phone or tablet out once for a very specific purpose: to complete the Wordle challenge. If you’ve arrived at this page then you do not need me to explain what Wordle is – although you may fancy checking out the spin-offs – so let me get down to business.
Today’s Wordle 1,039 frustration avoided
Today, Tuesday 23 April 2024 is one of those days that pops up from time to time when you can use all your mastery of the English language to no avail. It’s Wordle 1.039. Guess after simple guess and the green or yellow coloured letters jump into place. Two, three, four attempts are gone. There are just two left and you can immediately think of several more suitable five-lettered words. Oh no! The streak is going to end on World Book Day, how ironic!
OK. I’ve taken the hit for you. My streak (I won’t admit how long it was) is over. But you do not need to suffer the same fate. I’m not going to give you the final solution, of course, but I will provide you with what I believe is the key letter to your survival. That is the letter ‘V’.
Use it in your first guess (or if you’ve only found me after a few attempts, make sure to drop it in next) and, hopefully, your streak lives on for another day.
