These are some of the best new Christmas movies for 2025
The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes an option to watch some newer movies.
Another year, another chance to relive all the Christmas movie classics that have been past down the generations. But maybe, you’re in need of something a little fresher, so here’s a selection of flicks that may have not yet had a viewing in your home, some less suitable for the younger audiences (although we also have them covered).
Dear Santa (Netflix)
This is a darkly comedic twist on holiday traditions, starring Jack Black as Satan himself. The story follows Liam, a mischievous sixth-grader who, while writing his Christmas wish list, accidentally addresses it to “Satan” instead of “Santa.” To Liam’s surprise, Satan shows up, offering to grant his wishes—but with a sinister edge that spirals the small town into chaos.
Our Little Secret (Netflix)
This is a delightful holiday rom-com about rekindled love and the chaos of secrets during Christmas. Avery, Lindsay Lohan, and Logan, Ian Harding, once inseparable childhood sweethearts, find themselves awkwardly reunited years later when they discover they’re dating siblings, Cassie and Cameron.
The Merry Gentlemen (Netflix)
The movie follows Ashley, a former dancer who returns to her struggling hometown and bands together with a group of unlikely men to stage a Christmas variety show.
Nutcrackers (Hulu)
Featuring Ben Stiller in his first leading role in six years. The film follows Mike, a workaholic from Chicago, who is unexpectedly tasked with caring for his four orphaned nephews in rural Ohio.
Hot Frosty (Netflix)
Another Christmas romantic comedy. Directed by Jerry Ciccoritti, starring Lacey Chabert as Kathy, a widowed diner owner in the small town of Hope Springs. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she places a magical red scarf on a snowman, bringing him to life as Jack, Dustin Milligan.
