This is what The Bangles’ lead singer Susanna Hoffs looks like at 65 years old
She walked like an Egyptian for us on MTV in the 1980s and made us fall in love with “Eternal Flame,” an appropriate title for our teenage crush who still looks and sounds great.
It’s hard to imagine The Bangles without MTV and to imagine the girl group without Susanna Hoffs on lead vocals. “Manic Monday” was another huge hit for the band in 1987, just two years before the band split in 1989. Susanna Hoff went on to start her solo career and released “When You’re a Boy” in 1991 and “Susanna Hoffs” in 1996. She never found the same success in her solo career as she experienced with the group, which got back together in 1999.
Susanna Hoffs’ other creative ventures
In 2023 the singer published her first novel titled “This Bird Has Flown.” The book got good reviews and was purchased by Universal Pictures for a screen adaptation. Hoffs is also a songwriter and has written many songs for other artists, such as the Go-Go’s, Belinda Carlisle and Bette Midler. She also collaborated with Ming Tea, Matthew Sweet and Travis, as a featured guest singer on the single “The Only Thing.”
Personal Life
The singer and guitar player married American filmaker Jay Roach in 1993 and they have two children together.
