This past Wednesday, Timothée Chalamet had an unfortunate run-in with a camera whilst filming in New York City. The actor was filming a commercial for a Chanel Bleu fragrance when he smacked right into a camera on the sidewalk.

Chalamet and fellow actresses Stephanie Kurtzuba and Francesca Scorcese were exiting the building. Not long after, he immediately collided with one of the cameras being used for filming Chanel’s commercial.

The whole incident was captured on camera. TikTok user @mickmicknyc posted a video of the crash online, and it quickly went viral – currently sitting at 30.6 million views only a day later.

Timothée Chalamet accidentally broke off part of the camera

Upon collision, it appears that Chalamet accidentally broke part of the camera, as a piece of black plastic fell to the ground immediately after.

Undoubtedly an accident, Chalamet picked the piece back up immediately, still looking composed if a bit sheepish as he glanced around wondering what to do next.

Kurtzruba is seen next to Chalamet in the video rubbing his back and comforting the actor.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” she says to Chalamet.

Fans confused over Chalamet’s camera-slamming incident

Many fans and viewers of the now-viral TikTok are wondering what exactly happened, and why Chalamet did not see the fairly large camera in front of him while exiting the building. Some theorize that Kurtzruba pushed him, while others disagree.

“Did the the lady just push him?!” one fan exclaimed in the TikTok video’s comments.

“The woman didn’t push him I think it was just the camera mechanics and she was apologizing for rubbing his back,” another TikTok user wrote.

Others expressed worry for Chalamet, hoping that the ‘Call Me By Your Name’ actor was not in pain after the crash.

“played it off but I KNOW HE WAS HURTING,” one fan commented on Chalamet’s cool demeanor.

“those cameras r expensive but I know that hurt he got that shaky voice when u wanna cry,” another comment read.
