Tito Jackson dies at 70: what was the cause of death?

Brother to Michael and Janet Jackson, Tito is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Jackson 5.

Jackson 5 member Tito Jackson, a brother to Michael and Janet Jackson, has died at the age of 70, family friend and manager Steve Manning has revealed.

Although the cause of Jackson’s death has yet to be officially confirmed, Manning told Entertainment Tonight he believed the singer had suffered a heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma on Sunday (September 15).

Tito was the third of 10 siblings, and the third to have passed away.

Brother Brandon, the twin of Jackson 5 member Marlon, died hours after being born in 1957. Michael, who became one of the best-selling artists of all time after leaving the group, lost his life in 2009 after a propofol overdose.

In 2003, Tito began his own solo career as a blues musician, releasing two studio albums, “Tito Time” and “Under Your Spell,” in 2016 and 2021.

Was Tito Jackson married? Did he have any children?

Jackson married Delores “Dee Dee” Martes in 1972, although the couple later divorced in 1988, six years before she was found dead in a swimming pool. The couple’s three children, Taj, Taryll and TJ, comprise the R&B/pop group 3T. Tito is also survived by mother Katherine, who is 94, and nine grandchildren.
