Offset has played down suggestions he was involved in a backstage altercation with Quavo at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

TMZ reported that Quavo and Offset had to be pulled apart backstage at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.

However, Offset was quick to squash the rumors with a tweet on Monday.

“What tf [it] look like fighting my brother [y’all] n—s is crazy,” the “Clout” rapper tweeted after TMZ’s original report.

The outlet had originally reported that the fight broke out before Quavo came on stage to pay tribute to their late bandmate and relative who died in November 2022 after being fatally shot in Texas.

The inside source had told TMZ that the Grammys asked Offset to be a part of the tribute, but that Quavo didn’t like that and blocked the fellow Migos rapper from participating.

The “In Memoriam” performance

Following the alleged altercation, Quavo took to the stage to perform his song ‘Without You’ in tribute to Takeoff during the Grammy’s “In Memoriam’ Segment.

The segment also honored country singer Loretta Lynn, and Fleetwood Mac member Christine McVie, with performances from Kasey Musgraves, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, and Mick Fleetwood.

For Takeoff’s honor, Quavo was joined by the Maverick City Music choir in his performance of ‘Without You,’ which he wrote specifically for the late group member.

Meanwhile Offset was in attendance at the award ceremony, accompanied by his wife Cardi B in the audience, but did not join the performance.

The late rapper’s death

Quavo and Takeoff were playing dice at a Houston bowling alley on Halloween night in 2022 when an altercation broke out and multiple people were shot. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to TMZ, two other people were shot and taken to the hospital that night. Quavo was not injured.

Takeoff was the youngest member of the Migos, and Quavo was his uncle and Offset his cousin. Takeoff was 28 at the time of his passing.

Ten days after the rapper’s passing, he was honored with a large funeral at the State Farm Arena in his hometown of Atlanta.

Numerous celebrities were in attendance including Justin Bieber and Drake. Quavo also gave an emotional eulogy to his former group mate and nephew, which he later shared on his Instagram.
