The 65th annual Grammy Awards delivered big performances by the music industry’s top artists, cameos by surprise guests, and hilarious commentary by host comedian Trevor Noah, but that seemingly wasn’t enough to entertain Ben Affleck.

The actor, 50, attended the award show with wife Jennifer Lopez, making the event the official debut for the couple at a major event since their marriage back in 2022.

But whenever the camera would pan over to them, Affleck’s face gave the impression that he was anything but entertained, and that he was looking for a way out of the venue.

Twitter users sympathize with Affleck

Twitter users took to the platform to voice their sympathy for Affleck, with one user tweeting, “Ben Affleck at the Grammys is me any time I have to be on a zoom call.”

Someone else tweeted, “Ben Affleck looks like he’s thinking about the best sandwich he ever ate in his life and then remembering that place closed down.”

Users also referred to a previous moment in Affleck’s life back in 2020 where he appeared to be struggling with receiving his Dunkin’ Donuts order from his door.

When host Trevor Noah approached the couple, his expression appeared to briefly change, shaking the host’s hand and congratulating him on his hosting of the big event.

The return of “Sad Affleck”

Memes related to Affleck’s facial expressions or apparent misery isn’t anything new. The actor was previously the subject of a similar meme called “Sad Affleck”.

The meme came about back in 2016 during a Yahoo! UK interview with fellow actor Henry Cavill, where they faced questions regarding fans’ reaction to their movie ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’.

In the interview, while co-star Cavill answered questions, Affleck appeared to stare off into the distance, with a look of sadness on his face.

Fans then took the interview clip and added in the Simon and Garfunkel song ‘Sound of Silence’, slowly panning into Affleck’s face becoming more and more distressed.
