What customers have to say about Bad Bunny’s restaurant, Gekkō
Bad Bunny recently opened a restaurant, and customers have strong opinions.
Rapper Bad Bunny opened his new restaurant, Gekkō, in Miami this past August in partnership with entrepreneur David Grutman. The restaurant is an upscale Japanese steakhouse, with an extensive menu.
Though the initial opening was a large success, reviews over the past few weeks have hinted at some customer dissatisfaction. Gekkō has an average rating of 3.5 stars on Google Reviews.
Generally, the reviews trend positive, but there is a recent surge in complaints about the service. One customer who dined in earlier this week commented on the extensive wait times.
“The reservations are not respected in any way,” the customer wrote in their review, after indicating that their party waited over an hour, despite booking a reservation days in advance.
Another customer indicated that they felt rushed in their dining experience because of the restaurant’s strict reservation schedule.
“Some of us didn’t enjoy the dessert so we tried to order another one, but we were denied the dessert due to their ‘strict reservation’ policy,” this customer wrote.
“Way too overpriced and weren’t (sic) really able to enjoy the time, felt like we were being rushed.”
Other customers enjoyed Gekkō's food and ambience
Not all reviews of Gekkō are negative - in fact, many restaurant-goers who visit Bad Bunny’s new spot enjoyed the experience. The Japanese steakhouse’s menu entices many tourists and Miami locals alike.
One visiter loved everything about his visit to Gekkō this past weekend - especially the music.
“Come in town on a Sunday for one night. I had to stop at Gekko,” the customer said in his Google Review.
“The lobster and crispy wagyu dumplings for the appetizer were amazing. Main course I had sea bass. 5/5. Love the bad bunny music playing in the background.”
Other customers recognize the high price tag is reflective of the upscale atmosphere and top quality menu items - therefore, saving their visits to Gekkō for special occasions.
“The food was amazing !! I came here for my birthday and it was amazing. My friends and I enjoyed the food and the service !! 10/10″ one customer gushed.
Of course, there are undoubtedly many Bad Bunny fans who visit the restaurant not for its high-end dining experience, but because they want to support the rapper, who was hit with a lawsuit on Wednesday, and see what all the excitement is about.
“First time in Miami and as a fan of Bad Bunny I wanted to see what the hype of this restaurant was,” another reviewer said.
“We had reservations for a table of 5 and the restaurant was accommodating since we were running late.”
