The Rolling Stones’ new release, Hackney Diamonds, the group’s 24th studio album hit the shops today - the first album of original material since 2005′s A Bigger Bang, and sees the return of former bass player Bill Wyman as well as guest appearances by Elton John, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. Apart from Wyman, who’s still rocking at 86, the only original members of the band left are Mick Jagger and Keith Richards - together with long-term axeman, Ronnie Wood, who joined in 1975.

Jagger turned 80 in July and Richards will celebrate the same landmark in December. Both were in the first incarnation of the Stones, formed by Brian Jones in Dartford, Kent in 1962. Sir Michael Philip Jagger, to give him his full name and title, has had an extensive musical career with decades of success. During a career spanning six decades, the band has sold over 200 million records worldwide, won numerous awards, as well as having one of the highest-grossing tours in the world.

According to Billboard magazine, in 2022, The Rolling Stones’ 60 Tour became the sixth most successful in the world after pulling in more than $121 million, and that was with only 14 shows. Thanks to his success, Jagger has generated a massive personal fortune.
