The final episode of the third season of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ won’t be the end: the story will conclude with a movie.
Even though the final episode of Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty has already aired, fans won’t have to say goodbye just yet - a movie is officially on the way.
Amazon has confirmed that the hit series will wrap up its story with a feature film, written and directed by Jenny Han, the author of the beloved trilogy of books that inspired the show.
However, details remain scarce: Amazon has yet to announce a release date, and the plot of the film is still under wraps.
“Another big milestone in Belly’s journey”
“The Summer I Turned Pretty has struck a chord with audiences everywhere, creating moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection that have made it a global sensation,” said Courtenay Valenti, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of film, streaming and theatrical, and Vernon Sanders, the global head of television at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.
“We’re proud of the series’ extraordinary success and couldn’t be more excited to partner again with Jenny Han to bring fans an unforgettable next chapter.”
Jenny Han also shared her excitement, saying there’s still “another big milestone left in Belly’s journey”. Han continued: “I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
What could The Summer I Turned Pretty movie’s storyline be?

Season 3 once again focused on Belly’s emotional tug-of-war between brothers Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher. After a canceled wedding and a spontaneous escape to Paris, the final episode opened with Conrad surprising Belly in the City of Light on the eve of her 22nd birthday.
Following yet another heartfelt confession from Conrad, Belly hesitated - but ultimately ran through the streets of Paris to declare her own feelings, telling him: “Every version of me chooses you.”
The movie could pick up with Belly and Conrad’s wedding - a scene that closes out the third and final book in the series.
Meanwhile, we can expect the picture to explore what’s next for Jeremiah, Taylor, Steven, Denise, and of course, Belly’s parents and Conrad and Jeremiah’s father. With so many beloved characters still in play, there’s plenty of story left to tell.
