Although Emma Myers plays a key role in the Netflix series ‘Wednesday,’ she admits that she didn’t fully realize how big of a hit the show had actually become in such a short amount of time.

‘Wednesday’ follows Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) as she attends Nevermore Academy and attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a killing spree and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.

In an interview with Variety, Myers opened up about how the show’s popularity shocked her.

“I knew it was gonna be big, but I didn’t know it was gonna be that big,” Myers said. “I felt for sure that there had to be more, because we all loved every bit of it, and we really felt that people were going to love it too,”

“What’s funny is I wasn’t keeping up with it. I knew it was doing well. But I didn’t really realize how well it did until a while later, because not even a week after “Wednesday” was released, I was on a plane coming out to L.A.,”

“By Christmas break, when I got to go home and see my family and everything, it hit me that, ‘Oh, wow. In only a month it’s become top whatever on Netflix.’ It was crazy.”

What will happen in Season 2 of ‘Wednesday?’

On January 6 it was announced that the hit show would be back for a second season, and although fans and viewers have their own hopes for the show, Myers revealed what she hopes to see in Season 2.

“I would really like to see Wednesday go somewhere international and interact with the international outcasts from different countries,” Myers said.

“I feel like that would be really fun. As far as theory-wise — I never had any theories about the show, and I wish I did. But I’ve read so many theories. And I would like to see who the stalker is.”

What is next for Myers’ and Ortega’s characters?

Since the show’s release fans have been going crazy about Enid and Wednesday’s friendship. Many viewers have taken to Twitter to share their theories about the duo and their hopes for a future relationship between the two.

When asked about if Wenclair (Wednesday and Enid) would ever be a real thing, Myers said anything is possible in the series as of now.

“We haven’t really spoken about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything,” Myers said. “As far as love interests go for Wednesday, I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness.”

“She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she’s got to lay it off for a little bit. I would be deterred from dating anybody if I had gone through that.”
