When will The Boys’ prequel Vought Rising be released? What’s it about?
As the story of the supes continues into the future, thoughts also turn to the deranged beginnings of the company that started it all.
The universe of The Boys continues to expand with a new spin-off. This time, it’s a prequel series named Vought Rising, featuring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who portrayed Soldier Boy and Stormfront in the original series. Amazon Prime Video is making another bet on a product that has proven to be a huge success for the company.
What will Vought Rising be about?
The prequel series to The Boys will be set in the 1950s and will revolve around a mysterious murder linked to the origins of Vought and two characters well-known to fans of the series: Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
As the press release states:
“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.
“We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”
Unfortunately no timescale for the release of the new series was revealed but we’ll be keeping a close eye on the situation and will bring you the news when it happens.
The Boys and a constantly expanding universe
The prequel to The Boys will showcase the early exploits of Soldier Boy, one of the most significant supes in the series and a pivotal figure in its universe. On the other hand, we will revisit the familiar face of Stormfront, whose terrible past we already glimpsed, and the series will delve into all the evil she caused.
This new spin-off confirms the success of the universe created by Garth Ennis, which has enjoyed enormous success with its main television adaptation, as well as with Gen V.
Now, with Vought Rising, we will travel back to the past and explore the beginnings of the society depicted in The Boys, highlighting the rise of the supes and a world that was about to change completely.
