Winners of the Vince Lombardi Trophy last season - with quarterback Mahomes taking the Super Bowl MVP award - the Chiefs will this weekend bid to become the first team to claim back-to-back NFL championships since the New England Patriots in 2004.
And as has been the case throughout his stellar career, Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, will be there to cheer on her husband.
Who is Brittany Mahomes?
Brittany Lynne Mahomes (née Matthews) was born on 31 August 1995. A former soccer player at both college and senior level, she concluded her on-field career at Icelandic team UMF Afturelding in 2017.
Her involvement in the beautiful game has continued off the pitch, however: she is a founding co-owner of the Kansas City Current, a team which plays in the NWSL, the top tier of women’s league soccer in the US.
Brittany is also a certified fitness trainer and a social-media influencer, with nearly two million followers on Instagram.
What’s more, the 28-year-old is involved in charity work. Together with her husband, she oversees 15 and the Mahomies, a foundation that describes itself as being “dedicated to improving the lives of children”.

Brittany and Patrick Mahomes’ relationship
Having first begun dating while still high-school teenagers, Brittany and Patrick have established themselves as one of sport’s most settled couples. They married in a ceremony in Hawaii in March 2022, and have two children together: daughter Sterling, born in February 2021, and son Patrick ‘Bronze’, born in November 2022.
