Who is Molly-Mae Hague? British influencer announces breakup with boxer Tommy Fury
Former ‘Love Island’ star Hague, 25, revealed this week that her five-year romance with Fury is over.
The fashion influencer Molly-Mae Hague was one half of one of the best-known matches ever made on the popular UK dating show Love Island - but her five-year relationship with fiancé Tommy Fury is now over.
On her Instagram profile this week, Hague revealed the news to her roughly eight million followers, saying: “I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end.” Fury, a a 25-year-old boxer who is the younger brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, added in an Instagram message that he is “heartbroken” at the breakup.
Who is Molly-Mae Hague?
A former beauty queen - she was named World Teen Supermodel UK in 2016 - Hague rose to prominence when she appeared on the fifth season of Love Island in 2019. According to the UK newspaper The Times, indeed, her Instagram following rose from 160,000 to nearly three million during her appearance on the the ITV show, on which she and Fury got together and finished second, losing out to winning couple Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea.
In January 2023, Hague and Fury had their first child together, a daughter named Bambi. Six months later, the couple got engaged.
An alumnus of London’s Fashion Retail Academy, Hague became a brand ambassador for the fashion firm Pretty Little Things after her appearance on Love Island. In 2021, she was named the company’s creative director, but she left the post last year to focus on raising her daughter.
Speaking on her YouTube channel, Hague, 25, said: “I have realised that I’m only going to get this time once with my first-born child and I’m only going to get Bambi being four months old once. And I feel like I’ve had to rearrange my life a little bit and lose some commitments that I did have.” She remains a Pretty Little Thing ambassador.
Hague has nearly 1.9 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, while her TikTok account boasts around 3.6 million followers. In an interview with the Times two years ago, she said her mid-2010s decision to dedicate herself full-time to being an influencer had come at the best possible moment: “I was blessed that I jumped on the bandwagon at the right time. When I started it was a humongous thing, but there was still room to grow.”
