Who is new co-host Lawrence Jones replacing on Fox & Friends?

Lawrence Jones has been named as a new co-host of the Fox News morning show Fox & Friends, it has been announced.

The 30-year-old, who had already been working on the program as an enterprise reporter, will appear as a Fox & Friends anchor on weekdays, beginning on Monday 18 September.

Jones to join Fox & Friends’ trio of co-hosts

Rather than replacing any of the show’s existing hosts, Jones is to be added as a fourth member of the program’s line-up, Fox News Media said in a statement on Thursday. He will join long-running anchors Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhardt.

Doocy and Kilmeade have both spent 25 years as presenters of the show, which runs from 6am to 9am ET, while Earhardt became a co-host in 2016.

Jones will also continue in his role as Fox & Friends’ enterprise reporter, but his weekend show Lawrence Jones Cross Country is to end, Fox said.

Jones “honored” at Fox & Friends’ appointment

“I am honored to become a part of the cable news legacy Fox News has created with Fox & Friends, the very show where I made my first ever national television appearance,” Jones said. “It is truly a privilege to inform our audience every day and I can’t wait to do so each morning.”

Fox News Channel’s senior vice president of morning programming, Gavin Hadden, said: “Lawrence has his finger on the pulse of what matters to communities across America and his insight has proved invaluable to the Fox & Friends audience.

“We look forward to welcoming him to our family as he wakes up America alongside our star co-hosts each morning.”

Jones is now the youngest Black co-host in US cable news, Fox say.
