Ashton Kutcher has a message for all those who have criticised him over the past few days: “I chose love.”

In 2019, the 45-year-old actor shared a telephone number so that fans could subscribe to his somewhat inactive ‘newsletter’. Using this number, Kutcher would keep his followers updated with the latest news.

“I miss having a real connection w/ real people. My Community. From now on you can just text me. I won’t be able to respond to everyone but at least we can be real w/ each other & I can share the unedited latest & greatest in my world”, said the now deleted tweet.

What did Ashton Kutcher’s text message say?

The communication channel had not been active since July of this year, until now. Kutcher once again decided to charge his phone and send out a message of reflexion, one that he shared with a friend.

“A friend said something to me today”, he wrote, “We have one heart we can fill in with hatred of love. I chose love.”

Just minutes after the message was sent, social media ignited with various fans who decided to share the content on their phones, with the vast majority of choosing to criticise The Butterfly Effect actor.

“Who’s gonna tell him that someone who chooses to fill their heart with love isn’t gonna side with a literal rapist?” wrote one social media user. “Does anyone remember when Ashton Kutcher “leaked” his phone number and you could get automated text messages from him? Well I forgot I did that and today I decided to choose violence”, said another.

Danny Masterson support letters

Kutcher’s message and the fierce response come just days after it was revealed that the actor, together with his wife, Mila Kunis, wrote letters to a judge in support of Danny Masterson, his friend and co-protagonist of That 70s Show, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of rape.
