In November, the Recording Academy announced the nominees for the 2024 Grammys, with SZA leading the way. Jon Batiste, Boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff have all been nominated six times.

Who is SZA, the most-nominated artist at the 2024 Grammys?

SZA, full name Solána Imani Rowe, was born on 8 November 1989 in St Louis, Missouri.

The R&B artist rose to prominence thanks to her EPs See.SZA.Run and S, which were released in 2012 and 2013, respectively. The success of these two records helped her to become the first female artist to sign with the independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment. Her third EP, 2014′s Z, reached the top 10 in the United States’ Independent Albums chart.

After signing a contract with the Sony-owned record label RCA Records, SZA put out her debut studio album, Ctrl, in 2017. Her second album, SOS, followed five years later. It featured the track “Kill Bill”, which in 2023 became her first single to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

How many Grammys has SZA won?

Including this year’s ceremony, SZA has received 24 Grammy nominations throughout her career. She has been a winner once, scooping 2022′s Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for the song “Kiss Me More”, recorded alongside the rapper and singer Doja Cat.

Which Grammys is SZA nominated for this year?

At the 2024 Grammys, the 34-year-old is up for: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Progressive R&B Album and Best Melodic Rap Performance.
