Amsterdam authorities arrested Nicki Minaj when she arrived in the Netherlands. Through an Instagram Live, the rapper shared the events as they unfolded. In the live video an official can be heard saying they wanted to arrest her for supposedly “carrying drugs,” an allegation which she denied.

“I’m not going to go in there. I need a lawyer present,” Minaj argued, apparently at an airport. After some protesting, the rapper’s video showed her entering a police vehicle.

Minaj then expressed concern about her upcoming show in Manchester and was assured by an officer that someone would “try to get her there” as soon as possible. Minaj is currently on her Pink Friday 2 world tour. It is not clear if she was actually booked into a police station.

“They have been trying to stop me from attending all the shows. They took my bags before I could see them. They put them on the plane. Now they say they are waiting at customs. This is what it looks like when people are paid a lot of money to try to sabotage a tour after everything else has failed. Everything they have done is illegal,” Minaj wrote in the video description.

Nicki Minaj apologises for Manchester show cancellation

Later in the evening, the rapper took to Twitter to apologise to fans after her show in England’s north-west was cancelled, despite fans having already entered the venue.

“Thank you to everyone who prayed for me today. May God cover you and all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination. Please please please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies.”, she posted on the social media site.

The arena itself, the Co-op Live, said on Twitter: “Please note that general admission and premium doors for tonight’s Nicki Minaj show will now open at 19:00.” Once the news of Minaj missing out was made known, promoters Live Nation quickly moved to say that “tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance which will be announced ASAP. Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible. We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”

Nicki Minaj claims ‘sabotage’ on her tour

In addition to the live video on Instagram, Minaj shared more details of the incident on X, formerly Twitter.

They are being paid a lot of money to try to sabotage my tour because so many people are angry that it is so successful and they can’t profit from it. They got caught stealing money from my trips/planes. They got fired. They got mad. Etc,” she wrote.

“They try to force me to book another plane every time. All because I fired managers who for years I discovered were adding between 30 and 50 thousand dollars to my plane and they were keeping it in their pockets. I recently fired a tour manager who was doing the same thing and he was angry that he got fired... Their goal is to make me arrive late and pocket 40,000,” she added.

About the incident, she also wrote, “Now they said they found marijuana and that another group of people has to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind that they took my suitcases without consent. My security has already advised them that those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yeah, and the pilot wants me to delete my Instagram post.”

The rapper later posted that “Now they said I have to leave in 5 minutes to make a statement about my safety at the police station.
