Adele has revealed she will be taking an “incredibly long” break from music once she has finished her Weekends with Adele residency in Las Vegas, which is due to end on November 23, 2024.

Since November 18, 2022, the “Hello” singer has performed two two-hour shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip every weekend, with a few breaks in between. The most recent of them enabled her to do a second concert residency this August, Adele in Munich, which came to its conclusion on Saturday (August 31).

Adele has “no plans for new music at all”

One fan who attended the shows in Germany posted a video on TikTok which shows Adele sharing her future plans: “I have 10 shows to do [in Las Vegas], but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”

In an interview with Germany’s ZDF public broadcast service in the run-up to her Munich residency, the English star hinted at the reason for her musical hiatus, without going into too much detail, or saying exactly how long it would be.

“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she explained. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while”.

Record-breaking numbers at Adele in Munich

According to the German press, Adele’s shows in Munich set a new all-time record for a “concert engagement,” with a reported 730,000 fans attending her 10 concerts in August.

Since making her breakthrough in the United Kingdom in 2007, the 36-year-old Londoner has released four studio albums (named ‘19,’ ‘21,’ ‘25,’ and ‘30′), the last three of which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Five of Adele’s singles have also topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, the most recent of which was “Easy On Me” in 2021, the year she released her last studio album to date. It appears as if we’ll have to wait a while for the next one.
