While this strategy is understandable, it’s not great for those who love to rewatch their favourite film every week. This month, the streaming platform are set to get rid of 10 top-tier films that you should really race to watch before it’s too late.

Still Alice (2014)

Still Alice (2014) is a poignant drama directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland, based on Lisa Genova’s novel. Julianne Moore stars as Dr. Alice Howland, a respected linguistics professor who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

The film chronicles Alice’s emotional and physical decline as she grapples with the impact of her diagnosis on her family and career. Moore’s performance earned widespread acclaim, including an Academy Award for Best Actress.

The Other Guys (2010)

The Other Guys is an action-comedy directed by Adam McKay, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as two mismatched NYPD detectives. Unlike the department’s celebrated heroes, they’re stuck doing paperwork—until they stumble upon a major financial conspiracy.

As they attempt to prove themselves, their clumsy yet determined approach leads to hilarious chaos. Featuring supporting performances from Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, and Steve Coogan, the film delivers sharp satire, over-the-top action, and absurd humor, making it a standout buddy-cop comedy with plenty of memorable moments.

Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World (2023)

Big George Foreman is a biographical sports drama about the legendary boxer George Foreman. Directed by George Tillman Jr., the film chronicles Foreman’s journey from a struggling youth to becoming the heavyweight champion, his shocking retirement, and his inspiring comeback.

It focuses on Foreman’s faith and resilience, as well as his later success in life as a businessman. Starring Khris Davis as the pro boxer, the movie perfectly captures Geroge’s legacy inside and outside the ring.

Stand By Me (1986)

Stand By Me is a classic coming-of-age drama directed by Rob Reiner, based on Stephen King’s novella The Body.

Set in the 1950s, it follows four young friends—Gordie, Chris, Teddy, and Vern—on a journey to find the body of a missing boy. Along the way, they face personal struggles, bullies, and the challenges of growing up. Starring Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O’Connell, the film is a nostalgic and emotional tale of friendship and adventure.

A Haunted House (2013)

A Haunted House is a horror-comedy parodying found-footage horror films like Paranormal Activity. Directed by Michael Tiddes and starring Marlon Wayans, the film follows Malcolm and his girlfriend Kisha as they move into a new home, only to experience bizarre paranormal events.

When Kisha becomes possessed, Malcolm seeks help from ghost hunters, priests, and even gangsters in a series of outrageous and over-the-top comedic moments that are sure to make your sides hurt with laughter.

Top Five (2014)

Top Five (2014) is a comedy-drama directed by and starring Chris Rock. The film follows Andre Allen, a former stand-up comedian turned movie star, as he grapples with his career and personal life.

On the eve of the release of his latest film, Andre spends the day with a journalist (Rosario Dawson) who challenges his public persona and forces him to confront his past. With a mix of humor and introspection, the film explores fame, identity, and relationships, all while offering sharp social commentary and witty dialogue.

In the Heart of the Sea (2015)

In the Heart of the Sea is a historical adventure film directed by the brilliant Ron Howard, and is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s nonfiction book of the same name.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, the film tells the true story of the whaling ship Essex, which was attacked by a massive sperm whale in 1820, inspiring Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick.

As the crew struggles to survive at sea, they face starvation, desperation, and the harsh realities of nature.

Seven Years in Tibet (1997)

Seven Years in Tibet is a drama starring Brad Pitt as arrogant Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer. Directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, the film follows Harrer’s journey after being captured by British forces in India and subsequent escape to Tibet, where he forms a friendship with the Dalai Lama (Jamyang Jamtsho Wangchuk).

Set during China’s invasion of Tibet, the movie explores themes of cultural discovery and spiritual growth, with Harrer eventually undergoing a deep personal transformation.

Sixteen Candles (1984)

Sixteen Candles is a classic teen comedy directed by John Hughes. Starring Molly Ringwald as Samantha Baker, the film follows her as she navigates an awkward 16th birthday that her family forgets amidst her sister’s wedding chaos.

Dealing with crushes, embarrassing moments, and high school drama, Samantha hopes her dream guy, Jake Ryan, will notice her. With a mix of heartfelt moments and 1980s humor, the film became a defining coming-of-age story. Featuring Anthony Michael Hall and Michael Schoeffling, it remains a beloved teen movie.

The Sisters Brothers (2018)

The Sisters Brothers (2018) is a darkly comedic Western directed by Jacques Audiard, based on Patrick deWitt’s novel. Starring John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix as the infamous assassin brothers Eli and Charlie Sisters, the film follows their journey across the 1850s American West to track down a chemist (Riz Ahmed) with a secret gold-mining formula.
