Young M.A. gives health update and plans to release new music
The rapper updates fans who were concerned about her health.
Young M.A. has given a health update following a recent stay in the hospital, saying she’s sober and planning to release new music in the summer.
Fans became concerned about her health when a video was shared on Instagram last month, showing the rapper slurring her speech.
The rapper also shared that she was planning on releasing a documentary that would finally offer a clearer picture of what was ailing the rapper.
Young M.A. addresses fans’ concerns
“As many of my supporters know I’ve been dealing with various personal health issues the last few years. I recently was hospitalized and was successfully treated for several conditions,” Young M.A. told TMZ Hip Hop back in March.
“I’m doing better now, will take some time but I’m on the road to recovery and look forward to the future!”
She continued, “Rest assured I’m in good spirits and everything will be explained in the MUSIC ... plus a documentary. Love y’all MAB! Don’t worry I’m good!”
Her comments came after FatsDaBarber shared a video of Young M.A. sitting in a barber share, slurring her speech, with eyes that were visibly yellow. Fans reacted with concern for her well-being.
Back in good health and new music
On Sunday, just a week after celebrating her 31st birthday, the Brooklyn-based rapper, gave fans a new update in an Instagram story, looking much healthier.
“Long story short...just a small setback. Unfortunately, I made a lot of wrong decisions in my life, and things start to catch up with you, or whatever the case,” she began.
“I just want y’all to know besides all that I’m actually much better, I’ve been getting well. I’ve been very much sober. I don’t want to go specifically into details, ‘cause I really want to bring y’all along my journey, so besides dropping some new music, of course, I’m also having a documentary with my story.
“I know I’m mysterious, I keep my personal problems to myself, but now it’s time to expand that and express that to y’all,” she added.
It has been two years since Young M.A. released her second album, ‘Off the Yak’.
