10 things dogs hate about humans

In any relationship there are things we do out of habit or personality that just don’t sit well with others, and the same possibly goes for your dog.

Educating a dog, as well as adapting to its needs, is essential so that there can be harmony between the dog itself and its owner. However, these animals stand out for their ability to hear, which is superior to that of humans, and they have a broader spectrum of sounds.

The website ‘Experto Animal’ developed a list of things that dogs hate about humans, or do not get along with all that well. Precisely, the former are not only related to the noises that humans generate, but also to strong odors. Like hearing, their sense of smell is also much more developed than that of humans. They often react to these strong odors with a sneeze.

On the other hand, the way in which we communicate with dogs and the degree of affection that we usually show towards them represents a turning point in our relationship with these companion animals. According to the aforementioned website, it is essential to address them with gestures, sounds and short words to avoid overwhelming them and so that they can better understand the message that we intend to convey to them.

Regarding the affection that we show with them, in the form of kisses and hugs, the portal offers the following explanation as to why some dogs do not like so many signs of affection. “With hugs we mentally paralyze them (...) Although there are very affectionate and submissive dogs that do accept hugs, most do not tolerate them very much. When we kiss them, they may take that as us being submissive,” says the aforementioned website.

Another aspect that can throw dogs off balance is the ‘lack of structure’ or leadership in the family, as well as the lack of an established routine for walks and specific training. In the event that they lack some of the elements mentioned above, they may end up being more “insecure” when it comes to relationships.

Acts such as not walking in a hurry, making improper use of the leash while we walk with them, scolding them for no reason or trying to explain the justification for it, and even cleaning them too frequently are situations that can make them uncomfortabl. As for their cleanliness, they do not need to take so many baths since they need their own body odor to communicate with others.
