Spooky season has arrived! To mark the start of the spookiest time of the year, home security camera company, Ring’, has launched a chilling contest for all Halloween and paranormal lovers with a prize pool of up to $100,000.

The competition is pretty simple and consists of uploading audiovisual content, captured by Ring cameras, that shows paranormal activity; from real tests to comedy and truly absurd content. Participants can use any type of props, costumes and other extra elements to offer the most original video.

“Entrants may use artificial aids, such as costumes or accessories, manmade vehicles, makeup, props, and/or other artificial means to capture the ‘ghost,’” the contest rules read.

To be eligible to participate, you must meet certain eligibility requirements, including being a U.S. citizen and 18 years or older. If you meet the criteria, you can upload your video to www.ring.com/ghostsearch by 11:59 p.m. PT on November 1. Your file must be accompanied by a 100-word description of your video. Only the top 5,000 videos will be considered.

“Every day, we hear from our customers about surprising or unexpected footage captured by their Ring cameras. They love the ability to stay connected to what’s happening – although paranormal sightings are understandably not the most welcome‚” says Mimi Swain, the company’s commercial director.
