A new generation is here and everyone is saying they’re going to be ‘better’
The latest named cohort of babies are now with us. After the Boomers, Gen X and the Millennials, this new generation will cover those born from 2025 to 2039.

The little tots who have already joined us in 2025 - and those seeing the light of day for the first time right now - belong to a whole new generation. And, if you’re into puns, this group might just be ‘better’. Because according to how the social generations are divided up here in the US, babies born between 2025 and 2029 will be part of what is being dubbed Generation Beta.
The name, taken from the Greek alphabet, is being used by McCrindle Research to refer to the people being born after Gen Alpha - the cohort born between 2010 and 2024.
We have yet to see if the name Gen Beta will stick, just as “Gen X” and “Gen Z” did. Gen Y, the group born between 1981 and 1996, ultimately became better known as Millennials, because they came of age into the new millennium. Other names proposed for Gen Beta are Gen One, Gen Next, or simply Gen B.

Generation Beta will live to see the next century
Gen Beta will largely be the offspring of younger Millennials and older Gen Zs, and given current life expectancies many will be are expected to be alive when the 22nd century comes around.
According to McCrindle, worldwide the new generation will comprise at least 16% of the globe’s population in 10 years.
An important aspect of Gen Beta will be how technology will affect them. They are likely to experience and integrate artificial intelligence and automation in most if not all parts of their life.
Their parents, fully accustomed to using technology, will double down and use it as a major tool for Gen B’s education.

Since Millennials and Gen Z both come from technology-saturated eras, they are also aware that their children will face challenges regarding the use of tech and social media at such a young age.
Studies show that millennials and members of Gen Z in particular put importance on limiting the amount of screen time for their children.
McCrindle predicts that Gen Beta will be raised as globally minded and collaborative individuals by parents who make equality and environmental awareness a priority.
