Montana homeowners have an opportunity to receive up to $675 in property tax rebates for the 2023 tax year. This initiative, part of a larger tax relief package signed by Governor Greg Gianforte, aims to provide financial assistance to residents facing rising property taxes.

Eligibility requirements

To qualify for the $675 property tax rebate, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Own and live in a Montana residence for at least seven months of 2023
  • The property must be the principal residence, including single-family homes, apartments, condominiums, trailers, manufactured homes, and mobile homes (with up to one acre of surrounding land)
  • Have paid property taxes on the residence for the 2023 tax year
Only one rebate per household is allowed

Homes held in an LLC or corporation are not eligible

It’s important to note that if you paid less than $675 in property taxes for 2023, you’re eligible for a refund of your entire payment.
