A 74-year-old woman enters a stranger’s house uninvited: her pets were buried in the garden
It happened in Italy, and the Carabinieri have opened an investigation for illegal access and improper waste disposal.
In Fara in Sabina, a small town in the Italian region of Lazio, a 74-year-old woman has been reported after entering a property without permission that she had rented to a 23-year-old man of foreign origin. According to the local newspaper Rietinvetrina, the homeowner entered the property unannounced and in the tenant’s absence, intending to evict him and regain possession of the house.
During her intrusion, the septuagenarian collected the tenant’s belongings, placed them in bags, and left them outside the property. Upon discovering this, the tenant filed a report with the Carabinieri station and revealed an earlier, even more surprising incident: the woman had allegedly buried the remains of some of her pets in the garden. This action has resulted in an additional charge for illegal waste disposal, on top of the accusation for arbitrary exercise of one’s own rights.
At present, the judicial process is in the preliminary investigation phase, aimed at gathering evidence and drawing conclusions to determine the substantial motives behind the case. Subsequently, the competent authority—in this case, the Ordinary Court of Rome—will decide whether further criminal liabilities exist.
