A father divides his inheritance equally among his three children and receives an unexpected response from his wife: “That’s not fair”
A man revised his will after a friend gave him a scare. His decision to divide the inheritance equally has sparked a family conflict.

After his best friend experienced a health scare, a man decided to reconsider his will. Although the situation turned out not to be serious and his friend was discharged the same day, the event led him to reflect on how suddenly unforeseen circumstances can arise. As a result, he consulted his lawyer and drafted a will to ensure that his estate was properly organised.
He is the father of two daughters and one son. Both daughters are doctors with stable financial situations, earning more than $200,000 a year, and are married to professionals who also receive six-figure salaries. His son chose a non-academic path and works as a mechanic in a close friend’s workshop.
When planning his inheritance, the father decided to divide his estate into three equal parts. He believes this is fair because it concerns his three children, and he says he loves them all equally. He also maintains that his son had the same opportunities as his sisters, even though he chose a different career path.
However, his wife disagrees. She argues that the daughters do not need additional financial support, whereas the son, who rents his home while his sisters already own theirs, would benefit far more from receiving a larger share of the estate, including the house. For her, an equal division does not reflect the real needs of each child.

The father worries that an unequal division of assets might be interpreted as favouritism towards his son and could create resentment among his daughters after his death. For this reason, he remains firm in his original decision, even as he continues to question how best to treat his children fairly.
