Update:

According to Military Watch Magazine (MWM), aerospace company Boeing plans to deliver 48 F-15EX fighter jets to the United States throughout 2025 and 2026—roughly two aircraft per month until the end of next year. To meet this goal, Boeing will ramp up production of the jets.

“Factory performance has been improving in recent months, with rework and traveled work rates decreasing month over month, enhancing workflow productivity and supporting factory stabilisation,” explained Tom Altamuro, Boeing’s Director of F-15 Manufacturing and Safety.

As MWM notes, senior U.S. Air Force officials have been requesting more F-15EX jets for years to bolster the country’s air fleet. The F-15EX is described as the heaviest and longest ranged fighter class in production anywhere in the Western world. The aircraft features a more powerful radar, superior flight performance, and greater payload capacity.

According to Boeing’s official website, the F-15EX comes equipped with a modernized avionics suite, an all-new electronic warfare system, the world’s most powerful radar, an advanced crew station, and increased weapons capacity. The older F-15E models—purchased in the 1980s and 1990s—are being gradually phased out of the Air Force, making way for increased procurement of the new F-15EX.

However, when comparing annual production rates, the F-15EX still lags behind Russia’s Su-34 fighters—which have doubled in output since the start of the war in Ukraine, reaching around 30 units per year—and China’s J-16, the foreign counterpart most similar to the F-15EX.
