The day has arrived! This Tuesday night, January 10, the 80th edition of the Golden Globes are set to take place. Through the event, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) rewards the best film and television productions of the year.

The gala will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California. The event will be attended by A-list celebrities such as Ana de Armas, Quentin Tarantin, Jenna Ortega, Jamie Lee Curtis and Salma Hayek, who are also on the list of presenters for the ceremony.

Taking into account the stature of artists that will be present tonight and that the Golden Globes are considered the prelude to the Oscars, doubts have begun to arise on social networks about whether there will be a reunion between Will Smith and Chris Rock or not; since, the actor premiered the hit drama “Emancipation” in 2022, while the comedian was usually seen in this type of event, usually as the Master of Ceremonies.

Are Will Smith and Chris Rock going to the 2023 Golden Globes?

Contrary to what many believe, Will Smith and Chris Rock will not meet at the 80th Golden Globes, as neither of the celebrities were invited to the event .

In September of last year, a source close to Rock revealed to Us Weekly that the HFPA had contacted the comedian to be the event host; in fact, there was talk of an “s**t load” of money. However, Chris turned down the offer to stay away from the controversy and instead the Association opted for Jerrod Carmichael.

In the case of Will Smith, his production “Emancipation” was completely ignored by the HFPA, as neither the actor nor the film were nominated for the ceremony, making it one of the biggest productions that went forgotten this year.
