Bank of America branch closures continue in California, according to reports shared by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In 2023, several financial institutions, including Bank of America, announced mass location closures, and this year, a few more closures are expected, but in smaller numbers.
According to the banks, the closures have occurred because customers’ banking needs have changed, as more and more transactions can be carried out outside of physical branches.
As financial institutions look to adapt to the online banking trend, some of their branches are no longer profitable, resulting in the decision to close them. Here is a list of the branches that could begin to close in California starting this month.

These Bank of America branches in California will close soon, according to the OCC
The OCC shares weekly bulletins with bank locations that will be closing soon, as banking institutions are required to notify the OCC at least 90 days before they plan to close. This notification is done through an Advance Notice of Branch Closing.
Considering that the announcement of the closure must be made at least 90 days in advance, we can estimate that the June newsletters include information on Bank of America branches that could begin to close as of this month of September.
