The 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago is set to take place this week, primarily at the United Center and McCormick Place.

Unfortunately, the convention itself is not open to the general public. Attendance is restricted to credentialed delegates, media, and invited guests, meaning tickets are not available for purchase by the public.

However, there are numerous ways for the public to engage with the convention’s atmosphere through various events around Chicago.

Volunteering was an option for those interested in participating in the convention, with roles in security, transportation, and event staffing, among others. However, due to overwhelming interest, the convention is no longer accepting volunteer applications.

For those interested in the political proceedings, the convention will feature key figures such as Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota. President Biden is also expected to deliver remarks. The event will draw approximately 50,000 visitors to Chicago, including more than 5,000 Democratic delegates from across the United States and its territories
