CDK Global releases update on ransomware attack: What did they say about the cyberattack?

CDK Global has released an update on the ransomware attack the company suffered earlier today. Here’s the latest on what they have said.

After a major cyberattack led CDK Global to take many of its systems offline and disrupt business operations at thousands of car dealerships in the United States, the company updated customers with more information on the incident. In a notification published by Car Dealership Guy on X, the company confirms that it has “proactively shut all systems down and executed extensive testing” after realizing the breach had occurred.

This update also brought some good news for CDK Phones, DMS, and Digital Retail users, as services to these products have been “restored.” More updates are expected as testing continues on other applications. Car Dealership Guy has been asking his followers whether their systems are up and running, and the responses are a mixed bag. Sam D’Arc, an automotive podcaster and the COO of Zeigler Auto Group, reported on Wednesday afternoon that his dealership was still experiencing outages but had heard from other colleagues that their systems were back up and running.

As for the other applications, CDK Global has said that it “will be providing updates as we bring those applications back online.” Additionally, telephone lines to inform customers of the latest updates have been established. Currently, the recording plays the message that has been published above.
