Check if you have any cans of this famous brand of green beans: the FDA has recalled 200,000 units for possible contamination
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recalling nearly 200,000 cans of green beans due to possible contamination. These are the affected lots.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Class II recall for Good & Gather brand green beans, produced by Del Monte Foods and sold at Target, due to potential contamination with “foreign objects”.
What is a Class II recall?
According to official FDA information, a Class II recall is defined as “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.” This classification represents the second highest risk level established by the FDA.
Foreign objects in canned goods refer to various materials such as pieces of plastic or metal that could potentially cause risk of dental injury, choking or gastrointestinal irritation.
Nearly 200,000 cans of green beans have been recalled. The voluntary recall (F-0627-2025) began on February 12, initiated by the company itself; however, the FDA’s official notice wasn’t released until March 13.
So far, 8,242 cases (24 cans/case - equivalent to 197,808 cans) have been removed from the market. The recall is still ongoing, so how can consumers identify the contaminated product?
Which Target stores sold contaminated green beans?
According to official information, the affected cans were sold at Target stores across 21 US states, including: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
