All the keys to his fasting regimen

He followed a restrictive diet that involved consuming very few calories per day over three weeks during a fasting regimen. As the chef revealed on Tom Talks, hosted by Tom Segura, and despite how contradictory or strange it might seem, “you feel full of energy” while doing it.

José Andrés explained that he had done two fasts of this kind in the last six months. “I ate 300 calories a day, with some light soups or vegetables,” he detailed, emphasizing that when you eat these meals, “you don’t even want to eat anymore.” Beyond curbing hunger with satiety, he finds some healing benefits in this diet: “You don’t have any pain in any part of your body.”

While these fasts worked well for him, allowing him to lose, he says, 31 pounds in 21 days, it’s important to note—as he recommends—that they should be done under professional supervision to avoid turning the regimen into an abusive strain on the body.
