Claims of alien corpses made at Mexican Congress hearing into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena

The claims have been debunked by Peruvian archaeologists. The hearing investigated sightings of inexplicable objects in the sky, formerly known as Unidentified Flying Objects, UFOs.

Mexican Congress held a public hearing yesterday, Tuesday September 12, to address Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), inexplicable objects in the sky formerly known as UFOs, or Unidentified Flying Objects.

The event, orchestrated by Morena party representative Sergio Carlos Gutiérrez Luna, saw experts from various nations, including the US, Peru, France, and Japan, discuss their experiences and findings on the subject matter.

Prominent Mexican TV personality and ufologist, Jaime Maussan, kick-started the event with a declaration that “a watershed in history” was commencing.

He recounted a session held at the Capitol earlier this year, where the US House Committee on Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on National Security and Foreign Affairs heard testimonials from ex-military personnel discussing a supposed governmental program studying UAPs. The event examined various instances where military personnel said they had encountered unidentified objects.

Maussan also exhibited what he said were “non-human beings” discovered in Peru in 2017, claiming they were 1,000 years old and had been found in a mine. This claim, that the corpses are from alien species, has been debunked by Peruvian archaeologists, with DNA testing showing that the remains are human.

In 2015, Maussan made claims of a mummified body that was allegedly an alien. That claim was shown to be false with the corpse identified as a human child.

Findings of mummies with elongated skulls in Peru have seen speculation about alien species, however anthropologists have explained that the skull shapes are due to the ancient practice of artificial cranial deformation, where young children had the shape of their skulls changed by having the head bound with cloth, rope or wooden boards.

No evidence has yet been discovered to prove the existence of alien life and the many claims to have discovered alien life forms or their presence here on Earth have later been shown to be hoaxes or have mundane explanations.

Maussan urged Mexico to pioneer in officially recognising the presence of unidentified anomalous phenomena, however critics said his presentation undermines serious endeavours to address the matter and diminishes credibility.

Mexican Congress hearing explores unexplained sightings

Researchers such as Avi Loeb, the chair of the Astronomy department at Harvard, discussed their own encounters and research into unidentified objects and possible interstellar phenomena. Loeb brought with him fragments of what he alleges are from an interstellar object labeled IM1, coming from an event in 2014 where an asteroid entered Earth’s atmosphere and exploded over the Pacific. Loeb’s claims that the material came from outside the solar system had been treated as mere speculation, however, in 2022, US Space Force scientific head, Joel Moze, backed his claim, though there are still doubts over the exact providence of the material

Mariano Tello from Mexico’s institute for access to public information and data protection, discussing the right to access information on UAPs, said that everyone has the right to inquire into government activities.

Ryan Graves, a retired US Navy pilot who had previously testified to the US Congress, shared insights on the constant and underreported presence of unexplained phenomena in the skies.

Other participants, including retired Air Force Lieutenant Robert Salas, shared stories, such as incidents where nuclear missiles were reportedly deactivated in the presence of unidentified phenomena. Julio Darwish warned of the dangers posed to pilots by these phenomena, lamenting the lack of formal reporting protocols. Air Traffic Controller Enrique Jaime Kolbeck Vergara affirmed the verifiable reality of the existence of these unexplained phenomenon, citing instances of aircraft making visual contact with them, despite there being on explanation of what had caused them.

In a call for unified efforts, Andrea Pérez Simondini, the director of Argentina’s UFO study commission, emphasised the urgent need for formal reporting protocols to safely report UAP-related events. Japanese congressman Yoshiharu Asakawa committed to advocating for disclosure of these events in Japan, criticising the government’s reticence to share findings with the public.
