Costco will be opening new locations soon: Find out if there's a new store near you

The big box retail company is preparing to launch multiple new locations over the coming months. Two stores are expected to open in May, followed by three in June and another three in August.

In May, Costco plans to open a new warehouse in New Braunfels, adding to the more than 40 locations already operating in Texas. The grand opening is scheduled for May 15 at 235 Kohlenberg Road.

Later this month, Costco will also open a new warehouse in Visalia. California currently has the highest number of Costco locations in the country, with more than 130 stores. The new warehouse, located at 6610 W. Rigging Avenue in North Visalia, is set to open on Thursday, May 21.

New Costco warehouses opening in the coming months

In June, Costco plans to open new stores in Syracuse, Utah and Pensacola, Florida. Utah currently has 16 Costco locations, while Florida has 35. Costco will also open a new Business Center in Chandler, Arizona bringing additional expansion to a state that already has 19 warehouses.

In August, Costco plans to open another location in Albany, increasing the total number of stores in New York to 20. Additional openings are planned for Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and Otsego, Minnesota. According to Costco’s official website, Wisconsin currently has 11 stores, while Minnesota has 13.

How much does a Costco membership cost in 2026?

Costco remains one of the most popular retail chains in the United States, attracting shoppers with high-quality products at competitive prices. Because Costco operates on a membership-based model, customers must purchase a membership to shop at its warehouses.

Costco currently offers three membership tiers: Gold Star, Business, and Executive.

Following the most recent price increase in September 2024, the annual Gold Star membership in the United States costs $65. The Business membership is also priced at $65 per year.

The Executive Membership costs $130 annually and includes additional savings opportunities, along with a 2% annual reward on qualifying purchases. The maximum yearly reward is $1,250.
