RFK Jr. spoke with Theo Von on the comedian’s podcast where he said he “used to snort cocaine off of toilet seats.” Could the admission lead to crime charges?

Update:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., once again is in the headlines when he appeared on the podcast ‘This Past Weekend’ with host Theo Von. The U.S. Health and Human Services secretary shared why he isn’t afraid of germs.

During the covid-19 pandemic, in-person meetings of the substance abuse recovery group that RFK Jr. attended, where he met Von, were cancelled. However, the now-top health official in the nation and a “pirate group” consisting of around 15 people got together face-to-face any ways.

Bobby told Von that he went into the meetings saying: “I don’t care what happens cause I’m going to a meeting every day… I said I’m not scared of a germ. You know I used to snort cocaine off of toilet seats,” recalled RFK Jr. to explain his lack of concern for risking his own health, and those around him, with the highly contagious virus that was felling people around the world.

Could RFK be charged for admission to breaking federal drug possession law?

The HHS secretary has been open about his 14-year-long addiction to drugs in his youth. His sobriety began 43 years ago after he was arrested in Rapid City, South Dakota for heroin possession, which was a wake-up call for him.

His latest direct admission to drug use and breaking federal law won’t result in any consequences for RFK Jr. except perhaps for making people ponder whether he should hold the position that he does in the Trump administration once again. While such admissions could be used in a criminal prosecution, the statute of limitations for charges to be filed has long expired for RFK Jr.’s infraction, which in the case of drug possession would be for up to five years.

This isn’t the first potentially illegal act that RFK Jr. has admitted to either. RFK Jr. has previously shared how in 2014 he dumped the remains of a dead bear cub, which had been fatally injured by a driver in front of him in upstate New York, in Central Park making it look like a bicycle accident. The incident was investigated but remained a mystery until RFK’s admission, by which time the statute of limitations had expired.

He also shared while campaigning for Donald Trump in 2024 a story of how in the 1990’s he cut off the head of a dead whale and took it home with him strapped to the top of the family car. That led to an investigation by federal authorities, but the case was soon closed as the charges were “unfounded.”
