Danger in dog food: FDA announces recalls for popular dog food brand Salmonella risk

In late January, the US Food and Drug Administration announced that the dog food provider, Blue Ridge Beef, would recall nearly 6,000 pounds of their signature ‘2 lb log Natural Mix’ after a possible Salmonella contamination incident was identified within the supply chain. This is the third Salmonella-linked recall issued by the company since December of last year.

If you are a buyer of this dog chow, you will want to be on the lookout for Lot Number N25/12/31, which, according to the health agency, “are stamped in the clips on the end of the chubs/bags.” Additionally, if you have access to the UPC Number, the recalled batch will fall under 854298001054.
