David Céspedes, longevity expert: “This is the most nutritious food in the world, and no, it’s not breast milk or eggs.”
The health professional has shared a video on TikTok in which he talks about sardines and all the benefits that their consumption brings to our health.

In the field of health, diet plays one of the most important roles. It is the “fuel” we provide to our bodies every day, and depending on the choices we make, our bodies respond accordingly. In many ways, our health becomes a clear reflection of the habits and routines we maintain over long periods of time.
David Céspedes, a longevity expert and social media educator, shared a video online in which he discusses what he calls “the most nutritious food in the world.” He begins by asking: “Did you know there’s a food so nutritionally complete that you could eat it for an entire month and still remain fully nourished?”
“It’s not breast milk or eggs. It’s a food that provides extremely high-quality protein, Omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B12, iodine, creatine, and coenzyme Q10. Interestingly, these are nutrients that are often low in people over the age of 40,” Céspedes explains, before revealing that he is talking about sardines.

“It’s such a complete food that you could base your diet almost entirely on sardines for a month without developing any significant deficiencies, as long as you adjust your total calorie intake,” he adds. To support his claim, the longevity expert references the case of Nick Norwitz, a Harvard researcher who carried out this type of experiment while carefully adjusting his overall calorie intake. “His Omega-3 levels increased significantly while he maintained adequate nutrition,” Céspedes notes.
“If you eat sardines, you don’t need Omega-3 supplements”
“Sardines provide all the protein you need, along with calcium from the bones and vitamin D naturally found in oily fish, which is especially important during the winter months,” Céspedes continues.
Finally, after stating that regularly eating sardines makes Omega-3 supplements unnecessary, the health professional highlights additional benefits of this fish: “They contain key minerals such as selenium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and iodine, which are essential for functions such as thyroid health,” he concludes.
