The actor, singer and songwriter was found by police in a residence in Austin, Texas, his wife Stephanie has confirmed.

Cody Longo, star of long-running drama ‘Days of Our Lives’, passed away on Friday at the age of 34. The actor was reportedly found in bed at a residence in Austin, Texas by police after being alerted to the situation by his wife.

TMZ report that Stephanie Longo became worried when she could not contact the 34-year-old while she was at work. She called the police and officers found the actor dead.

No cause of death has been made public at this stage.

Speaking to TMZ Stephanie Longo paid tribute to her husband, saying: “He was an amazing father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered.”

Cody and Stephanie were parents to three children; a 7-year-old daughter and two sons, aged 5 and 1.

Who did Cody Longo play in ‘Days of Our Lives’?

Iconic American television soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives’ first aired in 1965 and has aired nearly every week since then, racking up more than 14,000 episodes. Longo joined the cast in 2011 and portrayed Nicholas Alamain for eight episodes.

He also starred in ‘Hollywood Heights’ for 78 episodes, playing Eddie Duran in the series. He has appeared in ‘CSI: NY’ and ‘CSI Crime Scene Investigation’.

Alongside his acting career he also found success in the music industry, performing under the name Cody Anthony. Having already established himself as an actor, he broke into the Billboard Top 100 in 204 with a self-written song ‘She Said’, which reached Number 3. His debut album also charted and he went on to be a music supervisor on a number of film and television projects.

Longo’s family, friends and fans will pay tribute in the coming days as they come to terms with his sad passing.
