Millions of coins are exchanged for their face value every day. However, there are some coins that can be worth thousands of dollars, either due to their rarity, their state of preservation, or even their demand on the market. Such is the case of the Franklin Roosevelt dime

The face of Franklin Roosevelt, one of the most important presidents in the history of the country, has been printed on dimes for almost 80 years. These coins were first minted in 1946, one year after his death.

Most coins currently in circulation are made of a copper-nickel alloy, however, the first units are composed of 90% silver. Likewise, there are examples with minting errors, such as incorrectly stamped numbers or details in the image, which make them more valuable.

  • Type 4: minted between 1892 and 1916, known as the Barber
  • Type 5: minted between 1916 and 1945, known as the Winged Liberty Head
  • Type 6: minted after of World War II
