Direct payments of $914 from Social Security on June 30: who will receive it?

Generally, SSI recipients receive their payments on the first day of each month. However, on some occasions they also receive them on the last day, if the first day of the following month falls on a Saturday or Sunday. If this happens, payments are advanced to the previous Friday. This happens in July.

Because the first day of July falls on a Saturday, the SSI payment for that month is mailed on June 30. That’s why SSI recipients receive two payments in June, but none in July, since they would have been sent earlier. The first June SSI payment was sent out at the beginning of the month.

Since SSI recipients will not receive a payment in July, here are the Social Security payment dates for next month:

  • July 3: Payees who started receiving their payments before May 1997
  • July 12: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between 1 and 10
  • July 19: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between 11 and 20
  • July 26: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between 21 and 31
