Disney+, one of the most popular streaming platforms in the world, has announced a significant price increase in the United States. This increase will arrive on 12 October with prices going up a mighty 27 percent from $10.99 to $13.99. In addition, the company has declared that it is looking for ways to take action against shared accounts.

Hulu will also be increased to $17.99 from $14.99, another Disney-owned property.

For now, the price increase has been announced in the United States, but an increase in the subscription cost has also been confirmed in Europe starting in December.

Like Netflix, Disney+ has been making changers at the consumers expense. Increasing prices and extra restrictions have made watching programmes increasingly difficult for many users.

A standout Disney+ price hike

Disney has announced that it is going to internationally expand its monthly plan with ads to Canada, the United Kingdom and eight other European countries with prices starting at €5.99 per month. The increase in the price of the subscription without ads will be coming December 2023.

The increase in the cost of a subscription to Disney+ is becoming more common; this will be the second time that its price has increased in less than a year. The North American company has highlighted that subscription plans with ads have been a complete success, and it is possible that this type of subscription model will begin to be a constant in the industry of streaming platforms.

Meanwhile, users will continue to suffer from various price increases and limitations or prohibitions to use shared accounts. What Netflix started is beginning to be the general trend.
