Since his arrival on Twitter, controversies have followed Elon Musk, including those related to the purchase of the company, payment for verification, layoffs and now, information leaks.

Elon Musk threatens to sue some Twitter employees

According to a recent report, Musk required his employees to pledge not to leak confidential information about the company to the press, otherwise they would face legal action, according to an email distributed on his platform, shared by Zoë Schiffer, managing editor of Platformer.

“Elon Musk is threatening to sue Twitter employees who leak confidential information to the press. He’s asking staffers to sign a pledge indicating they’ve understood,” Schiffer shared on the social network.

Schiffer shared part of the content of the letter sent to employees: “As evidenced by the many detailed leaks of confidential Twitter information, a few people at our company continue to act in a manner contrary to the company’s interests and in violation of their NDA.”

“This will be said only once: If you clearly and deliberately violate the NDA that you signed when you joined, you accept liability to the full extent of the law & Twitter will immediately seek damages”, notes the email, according to Schiffer.

In the text, Schiffer reports that “Musk says occasional slip ups are understandable ‘but breaking your word by sending detailed info to the media’ with the intent to harm Twitter ‘will receive the response it deserves.’”

According to Zoë Schiffer, employees were given until 5:00 pm to answer.

Meanwhile, Musk continues to face criticism after vowing to “protect free speech” on the platform, allowing the return of previously banned users, such as former President Donald Trump.

On the other hand, several advertisers left the platform amid concerns about content moderation. In addition, several celebrities have spoken out against Musk, alleging that the platform has suffered from an increase in misinformation, as well as an increase in hate speech.
