Executive blows up large multinational food company: “We have crap for the poor. I don’t want to eat a piece of chicken that came out of a 3D printer”
Camp bell Soup executive Martin Bally has been placed on leave following the release of his scathing comments.
A major scandal has boiled over at Campbell Soup Company after a senior executive was secretly recorded launching a sweary tirade against the firm’s own products and its customers. According to a lawsuit filed in Michigan, Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer Martin Bally allegedly derided Campbell’s food as “shit for fucking poor people” during what was supposed to be a routine salary meeting.
The recording, reportedly captured by a former cybersecurity analyst at Campbell’s named Robert Garza, is over an hour long and includes a barrage of criticism. Bally is said to have complained that Campbell’s offerings are “highly processed,” and questioned why anyone would buy them.
“Who buys our shit? I don’t buy Campbell’s products barely anymore,” he allegedly said, before adding, “It’s not healthy now that I know what the fuck’s in it.”
“Bioengineered meat — I don’t wanna eat a piece of chicken that came from a 3-D printer‚” Bally allegedly adds regarding the soup’s ingredients.
Bally also allegedly made derogatory comments regarding the company’s Indian coworkers: “Fucking Indians don’t know a fucking thing,” the voice on the recording says. “They couldn’t think for their fucking selves.”
The recording also appears to hear a voice say that he, Bally, came to work under the influence of marijuana.
Garza says he recorded the meeting in November 2024, months after he started at the company, then raised the issue with his manager in January 2025. Despite claiming he had no disciplinary record, Garza was terminated about 20 days later, and now argues his dismissal was retaliatory. His lawsuit accuses Campbell’s of fostering a racially hostile workplace and silencing dissent.
Campbell Soup Company responded publicly, saying it is investigating the allegations. “If the comments were in fact made, they are unacceptable. They do not reflect our values and the culture of our company,” the spokesperson said.
“We are proud of the food we make, the people who make it, and the high-quality ingredients we use. The comments heard on the recording about our food are not only inaccurate, they are patently absurd.”
