The Food and Drug Administration has posted a recall for a frozen non-dairy dessert that failed to declare an ingredient that could possibly trigger serious allergic reactions in some people. The item was distributed in eight states.
The dessert’s manufacturer, G.S. Gelato & Desserts, Inc., said it was pulling out a limited amount of the brand Full Circle Market’s Coconutmilk Chocolate Almond Crunch Frozen Dessert from the market, because it contains undeclared cashew.

The carton bears the brand and flavor of the product, and does not list cashews among the ingredients. People with an allergy to cashews could ingest them unknowingly and suffer a range of allergic reactions which can vary in severity, including hives, gastrointestinal issues, or difficulty breathing.
The lid of the product states a different product name, which does mention cashews. The brand is Nature’s Promise, and the flavor is Cashewmilk Chocolate Almond Crunch Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert.
