Update:

It’s fair to say that the UK’s handling of the upcoming Donald Trump state visit is not going down well with the portion of the population that still command control over their own grey matter.

For example, the public are so disillusioned with the way Prime Minister Keir Starmer is sidling up to the quasi-authoritarian friend of a pedophile as he arrives in the country to treat it like a theme park, that his ride in the golden carriage will take place behind closed doors, where nobody can see him.

Analysts have said that the Labour government are “desperate to get through” the visit as they are not in a position to play around with the current poll ratings which have seen them and the Conservatives — Britain’s two traditional parties — drop to less than 40% between them over recent days, paving the way for the far right (Nigel Farage’s Reform Party) and the left (Greens) to shake things up.

“Trump’s supporters are tearing themselves apart”

It’s a shame the government didn’t just let the public get close to Donald Trump to show him how they feel about a convicted politician being invited in. Diplomacy is one thing; pandering another.

But that’s where the wit of the Brits steps in. Instead of simply protesting from behind a police barrier — which there certainly will be — the Everyone Hates Elon protest group have gone further, organising for a giant photo of Trump and convicted sex offender Epstein to be placed on the grounds of Windsor Castle, the main residence of Elizabeth II from 2011 to 2022, and where King Charles is set to host him.

Local businesses are also selling merchandise with the very same photo of the two, just to dig in a little more.

Trump’s supporters are tearing themselves apart over the Epstein files. Now he’s hoping to escape it all to have tea with the King,” said a spokesperson for Everyone Hates Elon.

The publicly funded photo has since been removed by police. “The security provision in place for supporting any state visit, including this one, was always supporting a high-level threat. We have very comprehensive policing operation considering every eventuality on what could happen,” a Thames Valley Police spokesperson told TIME.
