Fort Stewart active shooter situation: Military base on lockdown with casualties reported
Reports of a shooter at Fort Stewart military base have been reported. Here is what we know.

Five soldiers have been injured in a shooting at Fort Stewart military base in Georgia. All were taken to Winn Army Community Hospital.
The suspect has now been detained and there is no threat to the wider community.
A verified post on social media from the military base explained the following:
“Casualties have been reported and the situation is ongoing”, adding that “The installation was locked down at 11:04 a.m. and law enforcement is on the scene at the time.”
Gov. Brian Kemp revealed on X that he was in “close contact” with law enforcement, adding that “we are keeping the victims, their families, and all those who answer the call to serve in our hearts and prayers, and we ask that Georgians everywhere do the same.”
The FBI are currently working in tandem with the Army Criminal Investigation Division to assess the situation.
Thousands of people reside at the base that sits around 40 miles southwest of Savannah, Georgia. It is the largest Army base east of the Mississippi River.
I am monitoring the situation at Fort Stewart.
