Good news for thousands of Americans with an AT&T settlement payment of up to $7,500: here’s the December deadline to claim your check
Here’s everything you need to know about how to collect your AT&T check.
After two major data breaches, a proposed settlement of $177 million now offers former and current AT&T customers a chance at compensation. The first breach, disclosed in 2024 but potentially involving data as far back as 2019, affected tens of millions: names, addresses, Social Security numbers and account PINs were all compromised.
A second breach, announced later in 2024, involved the leaking of call and text metadata through a third-party cloud platform, exposing logs of who called whom and when, though not the content of those communications.
How much can I claim from the AT%T data leak?
Under the settlement terms, victims of the first breach who can show documented financial harm due to the leak may be eligible for up to $5,000 in compensation. Those affected by the second breach, the data-metadata exposure, may claim up to $2,500.
Individuals impacted by both incidents and able to provide separate proof for each may qualify for combined payments totalling as much as $7,500.
When is the deadline to claim the AT&T compensation?
Those who think they are eligible must act soon: the final deadline to file a claim online or by mail is December 18, 2025.
The claims process is being administered by Kroll Settlement Administration, which sends out a “Class Member ID” via email or postcard that you’ll need to log in and submit your claim. If you didn’t receive such a notice, you’re advised to check spam folders or contact the administrator directly at (833) 890-4930.

According to reports, even though the payout framework is in place and claims submissions have begun, final approval of the settlement still hinges on a court hearing scheduled for January 15, 2026. Until then, no payments will be issued, and actual amounts for “pro-rata” claims remain uncertain, since they depend on the total number of claims, legal fees, and other administrative costs.
