Walter Orthmann, a 100-year-old textile worker from Brazil, has officially shattered records by clocking 84 years and nine days at the same company—a feat now recognized by the Guinness World Records.

What began as a teenage job in 1938 turned into a lifetime of dedication. At just 15, Orthmann joined Industrias Renaux in Brusque, a city in northern Brazil known as a trailblazer in the textile industry. His fluency in German—a common language in the region—and sharp intellect quickly propelled him from maritime duties to the sales department, where he managed key client relationships and helped drive the company’s growth.

At his 100th birthday celebration, colleagues praised Orthmann’s unmatched versatility.
